This policy explains what Stridec GEO/AI SEO Indexer (the “App”) collects when a Shopify merchant installs it, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not skimmed.
What the App does
The App submits the public URLs of your Shopify online store to Microsoft Bing’s URL Submission API so that Bing (and services built on it, such as Microsoft Copilot) can crawl and index them. It also displays Bing’s crawl and index statistics for your store inside your Shopify admin.

We do not collect, read or store customer data, orders, payment information, or anything behind your storefront. The scopes we request cannot access those.
How verification works, and what Bing sees
To submit URLs for a site, Bing requires the site to be verified in a Bing Webmaster Tools account. The App verifies your store under Stridec’s Bing Webmaster Tools account by rendering a verification meta tag on your storefront through a theme app extension that you activate. This means:
- Your store’s public domain is registered as a site in Stridec’s Bing account.
- Stridec can see Bing Webmaster Tools data for your store (crawl statistics, indexing status, search performance as reported by Bing). We use this only to operate the App and to show you the figures in your dashboard.
- You can independently verify your store in your own Bing Webmaster Tools account at any time; multiple verifications coexist.
- Deactivating the theme app extension or uninstalling the App removes the tag. Bing may keep the site listed in Stridec’s account until we remove it; we remove it on request.
Who else processes the data
- Shopify — the platform the App runs in.
- Microsoft (Bing Webmaster Tools) — receives your store’s URLs and returns crawl data.
- Railway — hosts the App’s server and database.
We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles.
Retention
- While installed: kept to operate the App.
- On uninstall: automatic submissions stop immediately; the access token is deleted immediately; the URL list and submission log are kept for 30 days in case you reinstall, then deleted.
- On a Shopify data-erasure request (
shop/redact): everything about your store is deleted within 30 days, usually within minutes.
Your rights
Email support@stridec.com to ask what we hold about your store, to have it deleted, or to have your store removed from Stridec’s Bing Webmaster Tools account. We answer within 10 business days.
Security
Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest, reached only over TLS. Access tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes are announced inside the App.
